Lisa donates a portion of proceeds from each Switch Gear™ Kit to support survivors of domestic violence through The Second Step, Inc. The Switch Gear Graduation Project, started as a pilot this year, provided each Second Step graduate with a Switch Gear™ Kit. Additional, collective funds of $2,500 were donated to TSS in May. Monahan, a longtime friend of The Second Step, describes her motivation, “The Second Step women and their children are “switching gears” to rebuild their lives. This organization has allowed me to give back to the community in a meaningful way — I am honored to be connected with The Second Step, this organization reminds me daily about what matters.”
The Second Step provides transitional housing, stabilization services, case management, therapeutic after school care for children, legal advocacy, financial literacy, educational and employment supports, mentor programs, community outreach and other services for domestic violence survivor families.

Responding to each family's strengths and values, we partner to enhance supportive community and identify pathways to physical and emotional healing, housing, and financial security. The Second Step, a non-profit organization, is located in Newton, Massachusetts, and was founded in 1992.
